Zixi and Comcast Technology Solutions have integrated the Zixi Software Platform with Comcast Media360 to support linear broadcasters moving distribution from C-band satellite to IP. The joint offer is available as a managed service and covers the path from ingest through affiliate and platform delivery.

The companies emphasise that satellite replacement involves more than transport. The design is intended to preserve rights compliance, market switching, blackout control, reliability and operational accountability while allowing broadcasters to use cloud, on-premises or hybrid IP infrastructure.

Why it matters

The next C-band transition is forcing programmers to replace predictable one-to-many distribution without losing the business rules built around it. Combining media-supply-chain management with resilient IP transport can avoid leaving rights and affiliate control as separate integration projects.

The announcement does not name customer deployments, service pricing or end-to-end availability results. Broadcasters should test failover, receiver estate migration, SCTE signalling, blackout execution, monitoring and the economics of sustained IP egress before treating it as a direct satellite equivalent.
