Lawo has shown Edge One, a converged video-and-audio stagebox designed for broadcast and professional AV. It combines bidirectional SDI, HDMI, MADI, USB-C audio, GPIO and synchronisation interfaces with interchangeable audio modules.
The platform is native SMPTE ST 2110 and supports up to 25Gbps of network bandwidth. It can also operate as a standalone unit for embedding, de-embedding, audio shuffling and signal transport where a full IP fabric is not present.
Audio, Video and combined configurations are available through Lawo FLEX. Optional licences add JPEG XS encode and decode, frame synchronisation, commentary, MADI and mc²-grade DSP, allowing one hardware base to be adapted between jobs.
That flexibility makes licence state and failure-domain planning important. Lawo has not published channel counts for every combination, measured latency or a complete redundancy model in the cited announcement, so system designers need configuration-specific validation.
