Zixi and Ateme have announced a deeper strategic partnership for live contribution and distribution. The proposed workflow pairs Ateme's encoding and delivery technology with Zixi's software transport platform across on-premises, hybrid and cloud environments.
The companies are targeting broadcasters facing higher satellite costs or reduced transponder capacity. Instead of requiring an immediate switch-off, the combined approach can place managed IP paths beside existing satellite distribution, adding capacity or redundancy before a fuller migration.
Ateme provides bandwidth-efficient compression, while Zixi contributes error correction, multi-path transport and protocol-agnostic routing. The partnership now includes coordinated solution engineering, shared reference architectures, account planning and co-selling, intended to reduce integration and procurement friction.
The announcement establishes commercial and engineering intent, not measured performance for a named deployment. Supported codec and protocol combinations, service-level responsibility, pricing and comparative reliability data remain unspecified.
