Ross Video has added XPression Chameleon to extend broadcast graphics into HTML5 output. A hybrid workflow can drive browser-rendered graphics alongside traditional XPression SDI or SMPTE ST 2110 output.
Both paths can be controlled together or independently through XPression tools and MOS-based newsroom workflows. Chameleon Designer also provides a standalone route for HTML tickers and data-driven graphics where a facility does not own the wider XPression platform.
The value is operational consistency: editorial data and established control can feed linear transmission, streams and digital products without rebuilding every graphic for a separate web stack. Rendering in the browser also lowers the barrier to deployment on OTT endpoints.
HTML engines do not render every font, animation and timing edge case identically. Teams should compare broadcast and browser results, define supported browser versions and test data updates, alpha, safe areas and failure behaviour before treating the outputs as interchangeable.
