Wise Advanced has previewed its CFexpress 4.0 Type B MK-IV series. The cards use the same physical format as earlier Type B media while increasing interface headroom for cameras and readers designed around the newer CFexpress generation.
The 512GB card carries VPG400 and VPG800 certification. The 1TB, 2TB and 4TB versions are rated for VPG400 and VPG1600, providing capacity-specific guarantees for sustained video write performance rather than relying only on headline burst speeds.
Backward compatibility allows the cards to work in existing Type B devices, subject to the speed of the host. The higher ratings are aimed at data-heavy RAW and high-frame-rate acquisition where a brief drop in sustained write speed can stop a recording.
Certification does not mean every camera supports every recording mode on the card. Crews should use the camera manufacturer's approved-media list and test full-card recording, offload heat, reader compatibility and recovery after interrupted writes.
