ZHIYUN has introduced WEEBILL 5, a compact three-axis stabiliser designed to move between conventional, low-angle, overhead and vertical shooting. Its integrated sling handle can extend into a short pole, reducing the number of accessories needed when a small crew changes camera height.
The gimbal supports payloads up to 2.94 kilograms and uses a dual-layer quick-release system intended to preserve balance when a camera is removed and remounted. A 1.8-inch touchscreen, joystick and control wheel provide local operation, while Bluetooth and USB links can control compatible cameras.
An integrated fill light is rated at 2,150 lux at one foot with a 2,700K to 9,000K range. An optional tracking module is claimed to lock in 0.2 seconds and follow a subject at distances up to ten metres. Battery life is rated at nine hours with a two-hour USB-C charge.
The tracking, payload and battery figures are manufacturer claims and camera compatibility varies. No independent stabilisation or endurance test is available yet, and real performance will depend on lens length, balance, accessories and the selected camera-control protocol.
