MultiDyne is moving its SilverBack cinema-camera adapter family onto native SMPTE ST 2110 transport. SilverBack-IP is designed to retain the familiar camera-back workflow while making video, audio, intercom and data available as standardised IP essences.
The unit has two 25GbE network interfaces and supports SMPTE ST 2022-7 hitless protection over the two fibres in hybrid camera cable. Two 12G-SDI and two 3G-SDI connections cover UHD and HD sources, while intercom can be carried as an ST 2110-30 audio flow rather than on a separate point-to-point circuit.
Two simultaneous 12G-SDI inputs also allow stereoscopic UHD camera pairs to enter the network through one adapter. The device can operate away from a camera as a standalone SDI-to-IP fibre gateway and supports 12V or 24V camera systems when matched with the appropriate power-extension hardware.
MultiDyne has not yet published complete bandwidth allocations, PTP behaviour, NMOS support, measured path-switching results or pricing. Those details matter for integration into managed ST 2110 facilities and for confirming that redundancy works across the full camera chain.
