Atomos has introduced the Shinobi 7 II, a seven-inch on-camera HDR monitor built around a 2,800-nit touchscreen. It accepts HDMI signals up to 4Kp30 and supports Log, HLG and PQ monitoring with more than ten stops of displayed dynamic range.
USB-C links the display to compatible cameras for aperture, shutter, ISO and white-balance control. Supported combinations can also expose touch focus and still-image shutter release, while built-in EL Zone, waveform, vectorscope, false colour, peaking, zebras and RGB parade cover technical monitoring.
The useful production change is consolidation: camera settings, exposure tools, framing guides, LUT preview and probe-based calibration sit on the same daylight-visible screen. USB-C PD, NP-F batteries and an optional DC adapter give crews several power paths.
Atomos lists availability in September 2026, but control depth depends on the attached camera. Buyers should check the compatibility list, HDMI format limits, thermal behaviour and calibration-probe support before relying on the monitor in a shared camera fleet.
