Satlink will present the ST-7406 IP stream modulator at IBC2026. The device converts incoming IP programme streams into DVB-T, DVB-C or ISDB-T RF for distribution over existing coaxial networks.
The unit accepts single-program and multi-program transport streams over UDP or RTP and also supports media from USB storage. A web gateway provides central configuration. Satlink states that the two available output channels can each carry about 15 programmes within a total bandwidth of 25 Mbit/s.
Technical significance
Many hotels, hospitals, campuses and residential systems already have usable coax but need to replace analogue sources. An IP-to-RF edge device can preserve that last-mile infrastructure while centralising content acquisition, although capacity and picture quality remain constrained by the selected multiplex and modulation settings.
What to watch
The report does not publish codec support, conditional-access options, redundancy, alarm interfaces or measured output quality. Integrators should verify regional modulation variants, RF specifications, programme remapping, EPG handling and whether the web management interface meets current security requirements.
