Ortana has integrated its Cubix Media Aware Workflow Engine with Archiware P5 to orchestrate archive and restore operations across disk, cloud and LTO. Policies can create secondary copies, apply retention rules, move content between tiers and verify removal of production media after protection requirements are satisfied.
When an asset is requested, Cubix can select a restore source from production storage, nearline systems, tape, cloud or a replicated archive according to availability, cost and workflow policy. Ortana's Harness architecture keeps the underlying archive infrastructure behind existing firewalls while the orchestration layer coordinates the job. The integration can be combined with more than 170 other media-system connections.
This is technically important because an archive with several copies is only useful if operators can find the right version and recover it without manually navigating every storage system. Policy-based source selection can avoid unnecessary cloud egress or slow tape retrieval while maintaining resilience. The announcement describes support across Cubix Yunify, Halo, Appliances, Connect GO and Connect FLEX, but it does not publish decision timing, large-library performance, verification methods or licensing details.
