Nevion has moved its MOXELA software-based media processing platform into general availability and released the first applications built on it. The initial packages address contribution over unmanaged networks and ground-to-cloud transport, extending the platform beyond the technology preview announced earlier in 2026.
MOXELA media functions include H.265/HEVC, H.264/AVC, NDI and AAC compression, logo insertion, and audio embedding, de-embedding, shuffling and matrix routing. Nevion says the same functions can run on commercial off-the-shelf servers or in cloud infrastructure, allowing operators to choose deployment by workload rather than by a fixed appliance.
The platform is aligned with the EBU Dynamic Media Facility concept, supports the Media eXchange Layer and integrates with Nevion VideoIPath for orchestration and monitoring across software and hardware resources. That combination matters because it gives facilities a route to introduce software processing while retaining operational control across hybrid environments.
The announcement confirms availability and the first supported use cases, but it does not publish independent latency, resilience or CPU/GPU efficiency measurements. Additional media functions remain on the roadmap, so buyers will still need to validate capacity, redundancy and interoperability against their own live-service profiles.
