ELYSAS has previewed its MUSE Air cinema-prime range at IBC2026. The company showed a 32mm F1.7 prototype and plans focal lengths from 18mm to 200mm, with the widest and longest lenses scheduled later than the core set.
Initial mounts are Sony E and Canon RF, while Nikon Z and Leica L versions are under consideration. ELYSAS says the smaller lenses retain the MUSE LF family’s rendering approach, including controlled differences between the focus plane, foreground, background, centre and edge.
A compact fast-prime set can bring a consistent cinema look to gimbals and lightweight mirrorless builds without adapting heavier PL hardware. The broad planned focal range would also make it possible to keep that rendering style across an entire production.
The range remains in development, and pricing, dimensions, weight and complete mount schedule are not final. Claims about bokeh and aberration control are creative characteristics rather than objective advantages, so cinematographers should evaluate flare, breathing, coverage and consistency directly.
