Movicom has expanded the Robyhead D2 pan-tilt system with an adjustable camera plate that supports motorised PL zoom lenses and a wider range of camera bodies. Demonstrations pair the head with Panasonic and Fujinon equipment and also show compatibility with compact cameras.
The D2 now outputs AR tracking data for virtual studios and graphics. Firmware adds complete zoom, focus and iris control for Tilta Nucleus systems, movement-complete notifications, TSL 5.0 tally, configurable zoom-compensator inversion and EasyIP support.
A new low-speed motion curve reaches 0.005 degrees per second through the web interface, while maximum speed is capped at 60 degrees per second. Remote Camera Technology pan bars add a familiar tactile control option. Together, the changes target both repeatable robotic moves and manual-style operation.
The vendor has shown the integrations, but has not published tracking accuracy, protocol latency, payload limits across the new plate range or pricing. Virtual-production users will need to test calibration stability and metadata timing through an entire graphics chain.
