Portkeys has released the LH5P III, a 5.7-inch on-camera monitor with a 2,200-nit touchscreen and an unusual 2160-by-1080 panel. The extra horizontal pixels allow a full 1920-by-1080 image to remain visible while monitoring information sits outside the picture.
The aluminium unit weighs 235 grams and uses 10-bit internal processing. Portkeys claims 104 percent P3 gamut-area coverage and factory calibration of Delta E 1.1 or better in Rec.709 and 2.5 or better in DCI-P3, alongside LUT, waveform, false-colour, focus and anamorphic tools.
Wired and Wi-Fi camera control covers selected Sony, Canon, Panasonic, Nikon and Blackmagic models. One LH5P III can control up to four compatible passive Portkeys monitors over a stated 50-metre link, with each remote monitor controlling its paired camera over Wi-Fi or a short cable.
The monitor is HDMI-based rather than SDI-based, and control depth varies by camera. Buyers should verify real-world brightness, wireless range, touch-tracking behaviour and calibration stability with the exact camera and power configuration they plan to use.
