Lawo has added the Stream Share App to its HOME Apps ecosystem for exchanging media between facilities, trucks, cloud environments and partner platforms. The app collects selected video, audio and metadata flows and presents them as one NMOS device to one or more external registries.
A single instance supports as many as 128 HD, 3G or UHD video streams, 512 audio streams and 128 metadata streams in both directions. The receiving environment can be another HOME system with NMOS Importer or a third-party controller or orchestrator.
Stream Share manages the control data rather than carrying the essences itself. Actual streams traverse dedicated network tie-lines. This separation lets the source retain resource control while an external system discovers and consumes only the exposed capacity, reducing duplicated configuration across distributed productions.
The announcement does not describe redundancy, bandwidth admission, authentication between registries or licensing. Multi-site tests will be needed to confirm behaviour during registry failure, partial link loss and live capacity changes.
