InSync Technology is adding OG-MCC11 and OG-MCC21 modules to its openGear conversion range. Both combine UHD downconversion with motion-compensated frame-rate conversion, addressing workflows that must deliver 4K sources through existing 3G-SDI, HD or IP infrastructure.
OG-MCC11 accepts SDI and can provide up to ten processing channels in a 2RU openGear frame. It converts UHD to 1080p, 1080i or 720p while changing frame rates across the 23Hz to 60Hz range. That combination targets international programme exchange, contribution and simulcast chains where resolution and cadence must be changed together.
OG-MCC21 extends the design into hybrid facilities with SMPTE ST 2110, Precision Time Protocol, forward error correction and AMWA NMOS support. Integrating those functions in one module can reduce the number of conversion and gateway stages required at the boundary between uncompressed IP production and legacy SDI delivery.
The published specifications confirm supported families and density, but do not provide channel counts for every UHD and IP mode, measured latency, HDR metadata handling or pricing. Final interoperability will also depend on the exact NMOS profiles, PTP environment and network redundancy options supported in the shipping release.
