France Télévisions has ordered 60 Imagine Communications SNP-XS units as part of a national SMPTE ST 2110 expansion. The project links regional France 3 facilities with two data centres in the Paris area.
The design uses ST 2022-7 protection and is targeted for full media exchange by the end of 2026. SNP-XS provides 12G-SDI and ST 2110 connectivity with UHD and HDR conversion in a compact, quiet form factor for regional control rooms and edges.
Why it matters
This is a substantial real-world expansion rather than a lab demonstration. It shows how a national broadcaster can extend uncompressed IP beyond headquarters while retaining adaptable processing at smaller regional sites.
What still needs checking
The release does not disclose network capacity, procurement value, operational cutover plan or the specific application mix loaded on each SNP-XS unit.
