EVS will introduce Neuron 4X, a live-media processor with native 400Gb/s connectivity and four times the capacity of the existing Neuron generation. It keeps the same compact form factor while targeting larger UHD stream counts and centralised IP production.

EVS says power consumption remains below twice that of the previous platform despite the fourfold processing increase. The density claim is important because moving more flows through fewer nodes can reduce rack space, network ports and facility power, but total system efficiency depends on the active application and traffic mix.

The platform combines FPGA-based deterministic processing with a software-defined application model. Bridge 4X is the first application, providing a high-density IP gateway for large UHD workflows. View 4X is planned to follow with four times the multiviewer channel count.

Neuron 4X expands rather than replaces the 100Gb/s range, allowing facilities to mix platforms. EVS has not disclosed pricing, shipping dates, absolute channel counts, supported ST 2110 profiles or measured watts per processed stream, and View 4X remains future work.
