EVS and Matrox Video have formed a technology collaboration intended to accelerate deployments based on the European Broadcasting Union's Dynamic Media Facility model. The work combines Matrox ORIGIN software-defined media transport and processing with EVS orchestration, workflow management and production control.
Matrox positions ORIGIN as an OEM framework for running media workloads on standard infrastructure while supporting interoperable approaches including the Media eXchange Layer and IPMX. EVS can build its production layer on that foundation rather than developing every transport and processing component itself.
On the EVS side, Production Resource Manager assigns infrastructure according to production demand. Tactiq provides the workflow-facing operator interface, and Cerebrum supplies unified control across SDI, IP, on-premises and cloud systems. Together, those elements aim to let facilities allocate resources to a programme and then return them to a shared pool.
The partnership and architectural roles are confirmed, but neither company has named a shipping joint product, first customer or deployment date. Performance density, supported ORIGIN functions, redundancy behavior and licensing boundaries will need to be clarified as implementations move from demonstrations into operational facilities.
