Grass Valley has launched the EDIUS Future Assurance Program. Eligible EDIUS 11 purchases receive an entitlement to the next major version, tying current procurement to a future software release rather than requiring a second full upgrade.
The accompanying EDIUS 11.51 update adds current workflow improvements. Grass Valley also previewed Sony FX5 RAW support and integration with AMPP and Framelight X, connecting desktop editing more directly to its cloud and collaborative media environment.
A new T3 playback system is described as supporting up to four HD channels or three 4K channels. For facilities, the combined announcement is less about one isolated edit feature and more about preserving media movement between acquisition, editing, shared storage and playout.
The announcement does not give the next major version’s number, release date, final feature list or all eligibility dates and regions. Buyers should confirm the written entitlement terms and test codec, plug-in and project compatibility before basing a migration plan on the programme.
