DZOFilm has added 25-75mm and 65-180mm T2.6 zooms to its Arles cinema-lens family. Together they cover a continuous 25-180mm range and a 43.5 millimetre image circle, placing them across common full-frame production sensors.
The two lenses use a parfocal design and share a 95mm front diameter, 0.8 MOD gearing and similar dimensions. Consistent focus, iris and zoom gear positions are intended to reduce the time needed to move a matte box and motors when changing focal ranges. Focus rotation is 270 degrees and the 16-blade iris is designed for circular bokeh.
The 25-75mm focuses to 0.51 metres and the 65-180mm to 0.89 metres. Both ship in PL mount, with a separately available user-changeable EF kit. DZOFilm also supports its Marlin 1.4x extender while retaining parfocal behaviour.
The lenses are available for preorder, but independent tests of focus tracking, breathing, colour matching and mechanical repeatability are not yet available. Those results will be more useful than manufacturer character claims when assessing the pair for multi-camera or rental use.
