Domo Broadcast Systems has developed the Raptor Talon TXR, a 52g wireless transmitter for wearable referee cameras and small drones. The unit measures 55 by 38 by 17 millimetres and is intended to provide a live point-of-view source that can be cut directly into a sports production.
The transmitter sends 1080p60 video encoded as H.264 over a low-latency COFDM link. A UHF return channel supports integrated camera control, allowing operators to adjust the image while keeping the equipment worn by the official as small as possible.
COFDM remains valuable in stadiums because it is engineered for resilient mobile contribution in reflective and congested RF environments. Combining that transport with a very small package addresses the comfort and safety constraints that often prevent body-worn perspectives from becoming a routine live source.
Domo has published the size, weight, format and transport approach, but not the measured glass-to-glass latency, RF power, battery duration, operating frequencies or range. Rights holders will also need sport-specific approval covering player and official safety before using the device in competition.
