Kron Technologies is shipping the Chronos Q12 high-speed camera. Its native 2560 by 2016 mode reaches 2,313 frames per second, while 1920 by 1080 recording reaches 5,148fps. Reduced-resolution modes extend the maximum to 29,515fps for specialised analysis.
Other published combinations include 2560 by 1440 at 3,116fps and 1536 by 864 at 7,471fps. The camera records RAW or compressed material with selectable 8-, 10- or 12-bit modes and includes a 1TB internal SSD for moving captured bursts out of volatile recording memory.
At maximum resolution, the 64GB configuration records approximately 5.7 seconds and the 128GB version about 11.5 seconds. Lens options include C, E, F, EF, PL and Micro Four Thirds mounts. A five-inch touchscreen sits in a 1.32kg body measuring 188 by 111 by 53mm without a lens.
Pricing starts at US$19,995 for 64GB and US$21,995 for 128GB. Published specifications establish frame rates and recording limits, but do not independently demonstrate dynamic range, noise, rolling-shutter behaviour, highlight recovery or workflow speed under broadcast replay conditions.
