AVer has introduced the NC30, a compact bidirectional NDI encoder and decoder. The device supports video up to 4K60 and connects through HDMI, USB-C and NDI HX, allowing it to move a source onto an IP network or return a network feed to a display or downstream device.

Power over Ethernet is included, reducing the need for a local power adapter where the network switch provides suitable PoE. The product is aimed at production, education and enterprise-video environments that need flexible endpoint conversion.

Why it matters

A bidirectional device can simplify spares and installation because the same hardware can be assigned to encode or decode roles. USB-C support also makes laptops and modern peripherals easier to integrate with IP video without adding another capture interface.

NDI HX uses compressed transport, so its bandwidth is lower than uncompressed IP video but latency and image behaviour depend on codec settings. Network design still matters: multicast policy, switch capacity, discovery across subnets and PoE budgets can determine whether a deployment is reliable.

What remains open

AVer's announcement does not provide exhaustive latency measurements or interoperability results across every NDI device. Buyers should confirm the supported NDI HX generation, HDR handling, embedded audio, control API and PoE class for their intended workflow.
