ARRI has released SMPTE ST 2110 support for ALEXA 35 Live through Software Update Package 1.5.0 for the LPS-1. The implementation carries uncompressed video, multichannel audio and time-sensitive metadata over a 25GbE full-duplex link.
The company specifies simultaneous transport of two uncompressed UHD camera feeds plus multiple HD or UHD return-video and return-AUX paths. Multiple HD streams can also carry high-frame-rate slow-motion acquisition over IP.
Two SFP28 transceivers provide active network paths for SMPTE ST 2022-7 protection switching. The system supports ST 2110-10, -20, -21, -30 and -40 alongside NMOS IS-04, IS-05, IS-08 and IS-09, with security profiles for communication and authorisation.
The permanent ST 2110 licence is listed at $8,735 or €7,500. ARRI documents interoperability targets, but facilities still need to validate timing, multicast design, SFP compatibility, switch configuration and failover against their own network rather than treating standards support as automatic end-to-end interoperability.
