Anton/Bauer previewed a 98Wh BP-U battery for compact cinema, documentary and broadcast cameras. The 14-volt pack is rated for 6.8 amps, giving it enough capacity to support a camera plus common monitor, wireless or recorder accessories.
USB-C Power Delivery can supply up to 60 watts to another device and can recharge the battery at up to 45 watts. USB-A and D-Tap connections provide additional power paths, reducing the need for a separate distribution plate on a small rig.
Anton/Bauer quotes a recharge time of about two hours and 40 minutes and says the pack should retain roughly 65 percent of original capacity after 2,000 cycles. Availability was expected in late September at a stated UK price of £175.
Capacity retention and runtime remain vendor figures until the production unit is independently cycled. Operators should confirm camera communication, connector load sharing, cold-weather behaviour and whether simultaneous output reduces the available camera current.
