AJA has launched OG-GEN10, an openGear synchronisation generator for HD, SD and AES-11 reference signals. The card places timing generation inside the same modular platform used for conversion, distribution and monitoring.
The product is aimed at broadcast, production and post environments that still require dependable baseband and digital-audio references. Integration with openGear gives operators common power, cooling, frame management and remote access rather than another standalone timing box.
Why it matters
Even facilities moving toward IP remain dependent on clean timing at their SDI and audio edges. A modular reference source can simplify small plants, flypacks and backup designs, provided it fits the wider house-sync strategy.
What still needs checking
The launch does not by itself describe a complete PTP or grandmaster architecture. Buyers should check reference redundancy, holdover, output count and management integration.
