AJA has announced KONA IP25 integration with Colorfront Transkoder and On-Set Dailies. The combination enables uncompressed SMPTE ST 2110 input and output directly from the colour, dailies and mastering applications.
KONA IP25 provides the network media interface while Colorfront handles image processing and review. The integration is intended for facilities that want finishing workstations to participate in IP plants without placing separate SDI gateways around each system.
Why it matters
Post-production and live broadcast are converging around shared IP infrastructure, especially for event mastering and rapid-turnaround work. Native ST 2110 access can reduce conversion points and make a workstation a routable resource in the same fabric as production devices.
What still needs checking
The announcement does not specify every supported raster, HDR mode, redundancy option or the host performance required for the highest-bandwidth workflows.
