AJA has unveiled BRIDGE LIVE IP, a 1RU system that translates between compressed contribution formats and uncompressed SMPTE ST 2110 media. It is designed as a boundary device for facilities moving signals between managed IP plants and contribution or streaming networks.
AJA specifies up to four UHDp60 or eight 1080p60 paths with H.262, H.264 and H.265. Optional licensing extends the appliance to NDI, JPEG XS and JPEG 2000, and the launch price is listed at $17,999 before options.
Why it matters
Many IP facilities still receive and deliver compressed streams at their edges. Combining codec processing and ST 2110 adaptation in one managed device can reduce external gateways and make route changes easier to automate.
What still needs checking
Actual channel count varies with resolution, codec and option set. Engineers should verify latency, ST 2022-7 behaviour, audio mapping and licensing for the intended combination.
