Ceeblue and Layercake have released production DRM and server-side ad insertion for sub-second WebRTS delivery. Layercake’s Streamcake control plane orchestrates Ceeblue origins and edge capacity across standard CDN infrastructure.

The DRM path supports CENC and CBCS encryption for Widevine, PlayReady and FairPlay across DASH, HLS/CMAF, low-latency HLS and WebRTS. Encryption metadata is created at ingest, while edge and relay nodes forward protected media without holding the decryption keys.

SSAI removes the earlier trade-off between monetisation and the latency needed for betting, auctions and interactive sport. The companies say the combined system is available across deployments that include Akamai, Orange, Fastly and other CDNs.

Availability does not establish performance for every player and device. Rights holders should validate ad-boundary accuracy, DRM licence latency, key rotation, failover, measurement parity and sustained audience scale before committing premium events.
