Disney+ has launched a curated Playlists feature that presents selected episodes and films as a continuous themed stream. The format gives viewers a lean-back experience closer to a programmed channel without leaving the subscription application.

Titles are shuffled within the playlist, while viewers retain pause, skip, rewind and fast-forward controls. That distinguishes the feature from a conventional linear FAST stream and lets the service combine editorial scheduling with familiar on-demand interaction.

The playlists are rolling out globally and can be organised around franchises, genres or audience moments. For the platform, the feature creates another discovery surface for catalogue material and reduces the decision required to start viewing.

The announcement does not describe advertising, personalisation logic, regional catalogue differences or measurement rules. Those details will determine whether Playlists operate mainly as editorial collections, retention tools or a foundation for more channel-like commercial products.
