Tieline has brought the ViA Duo portable codec to IBC2026. The unit can operate as a field IP codec, an audio-over-IP commentary node or an off-tube workstation with incoming audio and video feeds.
It supports AES67, SMPTE ST 2110-30, RAVENNA and Livewire, with Dante available through an optional card. Dual LAN, Wi-Fi, USB or internal LTE connectivity can feed SmartStream Plus hitless switching or Fuse-IP aggregation.
A touchscreen exposes routing, headphone, cue and talkback matrices, while the enclosure also replaces separate mixers, dynamics, recorders and playback devices. Remote control is available through a web interface or Tieline’s Cloud Codec Controller.
A broad protocol list does not guarantee identical behaviour on every network. Broadcasters should test interoperability, return-video latency, cellular failover, clock recovery and operator ergonomics before replacing separate field and commentary systems.
