TiVo has announced a broad TiVo OS update that adds DVB-I service discovery, expands streaming and sports navigation and lowers the minimum hardware profile for television manufacturers. The DVB-I addition lets broadcasters present internet-delivered services through a television interface without requiring a conventional aerial.
The platform's FAST section gains more global and local channels, a redesigned programme guide, a mini guide and personalised carousels. Live-sports events are surfaced across search, recommendations and the home screen. TiVo is also preparing Agent TiVo, a conversational discovery feature for natural-language programme requests.
Engineering work has reduced the operating-system footprint so partners can deploy it on devices with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of eMMC storage. TiVo also announced an IRCODE partnership using AI and computer vision to recognize on-screen content and enable commerce, discovery, advertising and companion interactions.
The feature set and target hardware profile have been announced, but the source does not identify the DVB-I markets, broadcaster service lists or device models available at launch.
