Stingr has introduced a second-screen interaction platform that uses a viewer's phone to identify television content and the current programme moment. The workflow is intended to work with live, catch-up and on-demand viewing without adding a QR code or prompt to the primary picture.

Once the programme is recognised, a broadcaster's own app can present shopping links, sponsor material or contextual information tied to that moment. The company also describes synchronised sign-language content delivered on the second device, which could add an accessibility path without altering the main transmission.

The approach keeps the app, audience relationship and commercial surface under broadcaster control, but its performance will depend on recognition accuracy, synchronisation, privacy design and rights metadata. Those areas are not yet quantified in the announcement, and no launch broadcaster is named.
