SES has launched CORE, a content orchestration platform intended to manage delivery across satellite, fibre and IP from one interface. The company describes the architecture as infrastructure-neutral rather than tied to one transport path.
The service monitors active content feeds, surfaces network-performance information, automates operational tasks and offers redundancy options. Customers can select delivery paths as channel, region and service requirements change.
A common control layer matters because hybrid distribution otherwise leaves operators reconciling separate monitoring, booking and failover systems. CORE aims to make route choice and service state visible while keeping the underlying transport mix flexible.
SES has not published protocol coverage, failover thresholds, external APIs or independently measured availability. Broadcasters should test alarm correlation, manual override, billing boundaries and behaviour when satellite and terrestrial telemetry disagree.
