Deity has released firmware 1.3 for the PR-4 field recorder. The update adds application-side playback, file management, renaming, quick notes, markers, FASTNOTE and track-name editing, moving more location-sound housekeeping away from the recorder’s small local display.
A quick PFL toggle has been added for faster channel checking, and the VoiceAware automixing behaviour has been revised. Metering now extends down to minus 60 dBFS, while the monitor-volume floor also moves to minus 60 dB.
The release addresses USB digital-audio compatibility, timecode operation, battery reporting and abnormal sound under large input signals. Those corrections matter because the PR-4 combines four inputs, six-track recording, app control and wireless timecode in a device intended for small production bags.
The published change list does not identify affected hosts, cameras or timecode devices, and it gives no migration or rollback detail. Crews should archive the previous firmware, run a full record-and-recover test and check timecode drift, metadata and USB routing before updating equipment assigned to a shoot.
