California public broadcaster KEET has moved its master-control operation onto Public Media Management Cloud. The transition replaces aging, capital-intensive local infrastructure while leaving the station able to retain local operational control when needed.
PMM Cloud runs on LTN Global broadcast infrastructure and a nationally distributed IP network. It includes geographically redundant processing, integrated disaster recovery, round-the-clock monitoring by PMM and LTN network operations centres and predictable operating costs.
For a smaller station, the architecture changes the refresh problem from replacing several local systems to consuming a managed broadcast service. KEET is also using transmission monitoring, maintenance and infrastructure support from Transmission Services Group.
The case study confirms that KEET is on air with the platform but does not disclose channel count, delay, failover results, service-level terms or operating cost. Local-control handoff and recovery from a wide-area outage remain important points for independent audit.
