Kaltura and Verimatrix have agreed to combine their cloud television and content-security products. Verimatrix's multi-DRM and anti-piracy services will be offered through the Kaltura marketplace to broadcasters, telecom operators and media companies.
The integration covers live and on-demand premium content on connected televisions, set-top boxes, mobile devices and the web. The companies describe protection against unauthorised redistribution, piracy and credential sharing alongside secure content delivery.
Existing customers are expected to migrate to the joint solution over the coming months. Placing security inside the platform catalogue could simplify procurement and integration compared with maintaining a separate protection stack, particularly for services that need the same policy across several device families.
The partnership and planned migration are confirmed, but detailed architecture, supported DRM systems, watermarking options, service levels and migration safeguards were not disclosed. No customer result or independent security assessment has yet been published for the combined implementation.
