Audient has launched Horizon, a Thunderbolt 3 audio-interface family comprising the 8P, 16 and 32. The common platform uses 32-bit conversion and quotes 0.99 millisecond round-trip latency at 192kHz on supported macOS systems.
Horizon 8P provides eight console-derived microphone preamps in a 24-input, 32-output configuration. Horizon 16 targets hybrid analogue workflows, while Horizon 32 exposes 64 analogue channels and a 50-input, 50-output system configuration.
Up to four units can share one driver, taking a four-unit Horizon 32 installation to 200 by 200 I/O. Digital gain recall, ADAT, word clock and selectable reference levels support repeatable integration with studio and post-production equipment.
The native approach avoids proprietary onboard plug-in DSP but depends on host performance, driver stability and Thunderbolt topology. Windows support, measured converter performance and behaviour at maximum channel count are not detailed in the cited release.
