DJI has launched the Mic Mini 2S, its first miniature wireless microphone system with internal recording. The transmitters can capture 32-bit float audio, providing a wide dynamic-range safety recording when location levels change unexpectedly.
Two noise-cancellation modes target different environments. Basic mode is intended to reduce indoor noise such as fans, air conditioning and reverberation, while Strong mode applies more aggressive processing for outdoor locations. Clipping Control limits sudden spikes and Loudness Balance is designed to keep output levels more consistent.
Each transmitter includes 14.5GB of storage, which DJI rates for up to 28 hours in the default 24-bit recording mode. A receiver can connect to four transmitters, making the system suitable for panel discussions, small factual crews and other productions that need several isolated voices without a large radio package.
The feature set is confirmed, but independent tests are needed for RF range, battery endurance, noise-reduction artefacts, time alignment and 32-bit float recovery. The system is compact production audio rather than a substitute for coordinated, licensed-spectrum wireless systems in high-channel-count broadcast venues.
