Cinegy will use IBC2026 to demonstrate a Linux and Docker deployment model for the back-end of Cinegy Air. The company says operators can retain the existing control experience while channel services move into a containerised environment.

Cinegy positions the change as a way to increase channel density on existing hardware and simplify migration or scaling. Docker-based deployment is also intended to make complete channel configurations repeatable. Cinegy Desktop, its local and cloud real-time production system, will appear alongside the playout demonstration.

Technical significance

Containerising the service layer can make channels easier to reproduce, patch and relocate, but playout remains a deterministic workload. The value depends on how the system handles time, device access, persistent state, storage, redundancy and upgrades without allowing general container orchestration to disturb on-air output.

What to watch

The report is an IBC preview and does not state release status, supported Linux distributions or migration prerequisites. Buyers should request channel-density figures, reference hardware, failover design, PTP and SDI/IP I/O support, database persistence and tested upgrade and rollback procedures.
