Calrec is using IBC2026 to position ImPulseV 1.5 as a software-defined audio component for the EBU's Dynamic Media Facility vision. The processing engine can run on commercial off-the-shelf hardware, in public cloud infrastructure or as a hybrid deployment, with support for productions up to 256 input paths.
Version 1.5 introduces smaller 96- and 140-path packages and short-term licensing intended to match temporary productions more closely. NDI capacity rises to as many as 256 mono equivalents across 16 streams, while Dante, NDI and SMPTE ST 2110 interfaces can connect the mixer to different network environments.
Calrec is also showing control integration through the Grass Valley AMPP SDK, including fader control and a bidirectional AMPP Bridge. Cloud-Init and Terraform support are intended to automate repeatable deployment, and planned MXL support points toward discovery and exchange inside a wider composable facility.
The capabilities are being demonstrated ahead of the show, but the source does not state general availability for every integration. Production teams still need measured latency, failure recovery, supported cloud configurations and licensing costs before treating the platform as an interchangeable on-demand service.
