NDI has partnered with NVIDIA AI for Media to build a real-time localisation workflow for live and recorded programming. The system combines NDI connectivity with NVIDIA translation and LipSync NIM processing so a common source can produce multiple language experiences.

The partners say the workflow supports translation, lip-synchronised dubbing and regional language adaptation for news, sport and other formats. It can integrate with existing production environments and may also feed localised advertising.

In an internal ten-language test, NDI reports that the same output was achieved while carrying eight times less video than a workflow that replicated the full stream for each language. The architectural idea is to move language-specific processing and audio rather than duplicate every high-bandwidth picture path.

The result is a proof of concept, not a neutral production benchmark. Translation accuracy, lip-sync quality, end-to-end delay, speaker consent, correction workflows and the treatment of names or urgent news all require human and technical safeguards before live editorial use.
