The National Broadcasting Corporation of Papua New Guinea has completed a production modernisation led by Magna Systems. The project moves daily operations away from tape and manual media handling into a shared file-based environment.
EditShare shared storage and media-asset-management components sit at the centre of the design, with disk archive, a high-speed network, Apple editing systems and backup and redundancy provisions. The workflow covers multi-source ingest, editing, playout and archive rather than modernising only one department.
For a public broadcaster, the main value is operational continuity and access: material can move between production stages without repeated physical transfer, while central search and archive functions reduce dependence on individual tapes. The system is also intended to provide a foundation for later HD and digital-service expansion.
