The FRAMES Accelerator project is testing an end-to-end production environment built around shared metadata rather than disconnected files and application databases. Its full name is Federated Retrieval, Agentic Media Environment and Software Defined Workflows.
A knowledge graph based on the MovieLabs Ontology for Media Creation records participants, assets, file versions, tasks, ownership and attribution. Archive and newly captured material can be tagged against a production vocabulary, making information available to downstream tools instead of discarding it at each handoff.
Locally running agents are planned to perform operations including upscaling, noise removal, audio cleanup and generative extension. A late script change in the demonstration will trigger notifications to relevant departments, while creators remain responsible for approving results. Zero Trust controls are intended to govern access across the federated workflow.
The project brings together broadcasters, research organisations and technology vendors, but remains a proof of concept. Its demonstration should clarify how identity, policy and semantic compatibility work in practice; performance, portability and long-term governance cannot be assumed from the architecture alone.
