Colorfront and Qumulo have integrated Transkoder and On-Set Dailies with Qumulo NeuralSearch. The workflow writes metadata gathered during ingest and processing into Qumulo user metadata attached to the media file, rather than leaving the information only in sidecars or a separate database.
The data can include camera-original metadata, colour transforms, ACES decisions, ASC CDL and LUT information, HDR and Dolby Vision metadata, framing, audio sync and automated QC findings. Qumulo’s storage-native index then exposes those values through SQL, natural-language and semantic queries.
Editors can retrieve matching shots through a NeuralSearch panel in Adobe Premiere Pro and load them without leaving the timeline. The architectural promise is that production context travels with the file object and remains queryable after a copy, move or storage-tier transition, reducing the decay that often follows dailies.
The companies describe the IBC workflow as a preview. They have not published schema-governance rules, query accuracy, permission inheritance or performance under a large multi-production namespace. Media teams should test how metadata is versioned, redacted and reconciled when assets are copied outside Qumulo.
