Backlight is expanding its Iconik and Wildmoka workflow at IBC2026. The Iconik Publish Panel is moving to general availability, allowing approved assets to be sent to social and other destinations through Wildmoka without a separate download and upload step.
Iconik is also adding suggested metadata, natural-language discovery, branded portals and a new MCP server for controlled AI access to customer libraries. Growing-file support and a confidence monitor let editors inspect and open recordings while capture continues. In Wildmoka, AI Moments is entering beta to identify notable events in live feeds for rapid clipping.
Why it matters
The practical value is continuity: media, metadata, approvals and distribution instructions can remain connected from the live recording through publication. That can shorten live-to-digital turnaround while reducing manual transfers and duplicated asset records.
AI Moments remains a beta feature, and the vendor has not published accuracy or false-positive measurements. Customers will also need to evaluate permission boundaries for MCP access, destination-specific publishing controls and the performance of growing-file workflows with their storage and editing systems.
