Avid and Google Cloud have introduced a browser-based Media Composer experience running in Chrome and connected to Avid Content Core. The workflow brings editing, archive discovery and production planning into a shared web environment rather than requiring every user to operate a dedicated workstation.

Gemini Enterprise and BigQuery support semantic descriptions, transcripts and search as media enters Content Core. Avid's Ready to Edit agents can use natural-language instructions to synchronise media, align dialogue and organise project bins. Planning and Rundown can coordinate newsroom assignments, while final edits return to broadcast programming.

A Site Engine connects a customer's Google Cloud environment to Content Core so central intelligence and workflow management can operate while compute and high-resolution assets remain under the organisation's control. That separation is important for facilities that want browser access without surrendering storage placement.

The announcement does not define feature parity with desktop Media Composer, supported codecs, bandwidth needs, agent approval boundaries or general availability. Editorial organisations will also need audit trails for automated logging and bin changes before using agents on live deadlines.
