VG Media Studio has opened a virtual-production facility in Laichingen near Stuttgart, built around more than 100 square metres of LG LED, Brompton Tessera processing and Mo-Sys tracking. The site is already supporting external commercial work, short-form projects, car shoots and a feature production completed in July.

Two 4K Tessera SX40 processors drive the main LED wall, each paired with two Tessera XD 10G data-distribution units. A separate Tessera S8 powers the LED ceiling. Brompton says the system currently operates at up to 60 frames per second and could reach 120fps with further configuration. The main room provides roughly 250 square metres in front of the wall, alongside a 70-square-metre conventional studio.

The workflow goes beyond basic LED playback. Stream Deck integration exposes stage controls through a familiar operator surface, while Mo-Sys hidden markers can carry tracking information that the production camera does not record. Brompton Frame Remapping can present different imagery to individual cameras during multi-camera shoots, and Custom Markers can place cues or instructions on the wall without including them in the captured picture.

The announcement does not specify the LED model, pixel pitch, total canvas resolution, rendering platform, camera package or genlock architecture. It also gives no motion-to-photon latency, colour-calibration results or camera-frustum limits, and the 120fps figure remains conditional. Those details would be needed to assess image quality, multi-camera compromises and capacity for demanding in-camera visual-effects work.
