TVU Networks and vivo have introduced TVU Pocket, a phone-sized acquisition and transmission device aimed at mobile journalism, live sports and rapid field production. It uses TVU software on vivo camera hardware rather than requiring a separate encoder and conventional camera package.
Dual active SIMs and dual Wi-Fi can provide four simultaneous network paths. TVU's ISX bonding technology combines the available connections, while capture settings span 4K down to 480p at frame rates from 25 to 60 frames per second with manual exposure controls.
The workflow includes overlays, multi-platform simulcasting, return video, TVU Partyline collaboration and Time Lock synchronisation. ZEISS 14mm, 35mm and 85mm optics are built into the platform, with optional 200mm and 400mm reach for more distant subjects.
The announcement establishes the feature set but does not publish sustained bitrate, end-to-end latency, thermal limits or battery endurance while all four links are active. Broadcasters should test coverage transitions, audio integration and recovery from individual network failures before assigning it to critical live work.
